Privacy Policy
Effective 16 July 2026
The short version
GuitarDoc collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking, and no server. Everything the app does happens on your device, and all your data stays there.
Microphone
GuitarDoc asks for microphone access for one reason: the tuner. Audio is analysed on your device in real time to detect pitch, and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
Camera
GuitarDoc asks for camera access for one reason: measuring your guitar (string action against the frets). Frames are processed entirely on your device. Photos and camera frames never leave your phone.
Purchases
The one-time Pro unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We never see or store your payment details, and there is no purchase server of ours involved — Apple handles the transaction and the receipt lives with your Apple ID.
Your data stays on your device
Setup sessions, measurements, and guitar profiles are stored locally on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them. We have no copy — we couldn't look at your data if we wanted to.
What we don't do
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No advertising or ad identifiers
- No third-party SDKs that phone home
- No accounts, emails, or personal information collected
- No location access
Changes
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future feature needs a network connection), the change will be described here and in the App Store release notes before it takes effect.
